Welcome to Rico Tico Tours. By booking a tour or using our website, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms ensure clarity, fairness, and respect for both you and our team, so that every experience with us is safe, enjoyable, and transparent.

1. Bookings and Payments

All tours must be booked in advance. Full payment or a deposit may be required at the time of booking, depending on the tour. Your booking will be confirmed once payment is received and you receive a confirmation email from us.

We accept major credit cards and other secure payment methods. All transactions are processed through trusted third-party providers.

2. Cancellations and Refunds

We understand that travel plans can change.

  • Cancellations made 48 hours or more before your scheduled tour are eligible for a full refund.

  • Cancellations made within 48 hours may not be refundable, depending on the tour type such as retreats and itineraries and partner policies.

  • In cases of severe weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a tour. If we cancel, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

3. Changes to Your Tour

We do our best to deliver the exact experiences described on our site. However, itineraries may change due to weather, park regulations, or wildlife conditions. Any changes will be communicated clearly and always made with your safety and satisfaction in mind.

4. Health, Safety, and Responsibility

Our tours often involve outdoor activities, nature walks, and wildlife encounters. Participation is at your own risk.
By booking a tour, you confirm that:

  • You are physically capable of participating in the chosen activities.

  • You’ll follow all safety instructions provided by your guide.

  • You release Rico Tico Tours and its partners from liability for any injuries, losses, or damages incurred during the experience.

5. Travel Insurance

We highly recommend that all guests carry travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and personal belongings.

6. Partner Tours and Third-Party Services

We collaborate with many local guides and small businesses throughout Costa Rica. When you book a partner tour through us, we act as an intermediary to connect you with that provider. The service is ultimately operated under their own terms and policies, which we review carefully to ensure quality and safety.

7. Photography and Media

During tours, we may take photos or videos for marketing purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform your guide before the tour begins.

8. Privacy and Data Use

Your privacy matters to us. Personal details shared for bookings or communication are used only to deliver your services. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. Any disputes shall be resolved under Costa Rican jurisdiction.
